Double Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"The Advocate Albariño is grown in the Bridge Pa Triangle sub-region of Hawke’s Bay. Warm temperatures and free draining silt over red metal gravels provide perfect growing conditions.
Fruit for this wine is harvested and gently pressed, before the clarified juice underwent fermentation in both stainless steel tanks and old French oak barrels. Post fermentation, the wine was kept on yeast lees with periodic stirring to introduce complexity and texture.
Expressive aromatics of ripe lime and peach are a prelude to an intensely fresh and juicy palate with a sweet, salted core of citrus fruits providing a mouthwatering finish."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"A fabulous rendition of the variety, showing white flesh peach, fresh fig, green pear and jasmine notes on the nose. The palate displays excellent weight and focus, splendidly framed by fine texture and bright acidity, finishing long and exuberant. At its best: now to 2028."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, September 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"Varietal and fresh, flavours of fresh white peach then pear evolving into flavours of citrus more towards the back palate. Medium weighted with a satin texture and contrasting acid line. Balanced, well made and ready to drink form 2024 through 2027."
