Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Pale straw/green in colour. Fragrant floral aromas with touches of ripe citrus and peach on the nose. Subtle, balanced and elegant with a lengthy but delicate finish.
This established north facing vineyard receives all day sun, and coupled with cool Marlborough nights, makes for ideal cool climate growing conditions for their Riesling fruit. The free draining, deep alluvial silt loam soil profile, overlying a clay sub soil, means that very little irrigation is required, even in dry years. Ashmore Vineyard was planted in 1997 with conversion to organics beginning in 2009, and full certification achieved in 2012. Riesling fruit from this vineyard offers a vibrant aromatic, citrus profile, with notes of red apple, melon and fresh herbs."

"Quiet nose…subdued yellow flower, honeydew melon… in mouth though, it has great presence: fruit weight and concentration… grannysmith, squeeze of lime..Mirabelle plum flavours… med dry sweetness well balanced by acidity and phenolics… great style… exuberant and persistent…"

"Very enticing aromas of ripe citrus, apple, mandarin and lime-flower scents. There’s a wet river-stone minerality and light saline note. On the palate – an off-dry style with just a few seconds of sweetness before the core of fruit and acidity brings contrast, texture and length. Youthful, balanced, well made and delicious. best drinking from late 2021 through 2029+"
