Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Grown across two great Central Otago subregions – Pisa and Bendigo. Our Bendigo vineyard is located high on the Bendigo Terraces, north facing, steep slopes give an incredible aspect. The Lowburn Vineyard, we have worked with for the last 3 years, sitting on the edge of Lake Dunstan, the soils here are stony and free draining. The fruit packed lots of flavour and was well poised, with great acidity. The wine was pressed to barrel where it fermented naturally and underwent 100% malolactic fermentation.
The result – our Chardonnay has a beautiful white stone fruit nose and a hint of struck match. The palate is textural, layered and perfectly balanced. The acid, fruit and oak used in this wine sit well together. Great for drinking now through the next five years."

"The 2023 Chardonnay is so tightly coiled compared to the 2019 tasted beside it. It is possessed of searing intensity and packs of white flowers and spice that spiral across the palate. Having had the benefit (and privilege) of tasting the 2019 beside this, I can categorically state that this wine opens and evolves as it ages, and the clarity of fruit here will open and become more complex with time. This is all potential right now, coiled potential. I like the 2023 vintage across the region, and so I have high hopes for this."
