Nebbiolo Bianco is a synonym for Arneis. This shows pear skin and flesh, gentle rosehip, ripe apple and a savoury kick beneath. The aromas are restrained and delicate. The palate is packed with fruit – green apple, pear, taut meyer lemon and subtle melon sit within a nice slippery texture. A good hit of phenolics pairs with pithy acidity to carry the fruit to a gentle close.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Patch Wines is a collaboration between Kirilly Gordon and Matt Talbot, when a patch of vines laden with ripe grapes turned up with no home to go to, it seemed like an excellent idea to turn them into wine. We spend as much time as we can in the vineyard to shoot thin and fruit thin to ensure the best quality we can. We pick most of the grapes with friends to help, we destem and press in a tiny press in the vineyard shed and have small fermenting pots and a Speidel Egg.
Picked in late February at 12.6 Baume. 66% basket pressed to stainless steel. 34% spent 48 hours on skins before pressing and fermented in old oak barriques. Blended two weeks before bottling in August. Crunchy green pears, white flowers and freshly blanched almonds with a bright, fresh palate."
