As good as Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc gets and up with the best from Marlborough.
Consistently one of New Zealand's best Sauvignon Blancs. From Martinborough and although basically directly opposite to Marlborough, it is exposed to more wind in the late spring during flowering (those brisk southerlies that blow through) and this has the effect of lowering yields. The end result is that Martinborough Sauvignons tend to get riper fruit flavours than Marlborough – passionfruit especially. This is quite evident in this wine along with fresh pea, herbal notes.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Stylish and sophisticated aromatics, showing freshly cut grass, honeydew melon, passionfruit, gunflint, white peach and blossom. Dry, textured and intensely focused, the palate shows the harmony of Palliser’s organic vineyards. Effortlessly pure, perfectly balanced and pleasingly fresh, crisp and elegant.
The fruit is harvested and gently crushed to tank, cold settled over 2 days and racked to tank and fermented leaving 5g/litre of residual sugar giving added weight and texture to the wine. A 10% portion is fermented in old barrels. The wine then spends a further 2 months on lees before bottling."

"It's gorgeously fragrant on the nose, showing passionfruit, feijoa, green rockmelon and lime zest aromas. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and persistency. Powerful and delectably expressed, making it hugely appealing. At its best: now to 2028."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sammy Wilkinson, The Wine Writer, December 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"Guava bomb! Grassy, fijoa, herby and passionfruit notes, slightly greener spectrum with some green capsicum and sugar snap pea with fresh basil. Electric on the palate, dry and crunchy lime palate with mineral notes finishing on a lingering fresh herb and wet stone notes. Deliciously textural and refined, one classy sauvy that's a must-try for understanding regional variation. Luscious and concentrated with a tropical lingering chalky finish – a new favourite! "
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, September 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"A lovely nose and palate with a definitive bouquet of power and ripeness, variety and style. Aromas and flavours of fresh pears and citrus, a fine layer of tropical fruits and soft green herbs deliver an enticing aroma package. Crisp, salivating, fruity and dry on the palate with core flavours of white fleshed fruits then citrus, near high acidity with a soft satin edge. Balanced and well made with best drinking from late 2024 through 2028."
