Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Musky, exotic and bursting with summer stone fruits, the nose shows quince, nashi pear, apple strudel, nutmeg and rose petal. Luscious, rich and gently off-dry in style, the palate is a spicy, silky, sensory overload. Bursting with cinnamon, nutmeg, apples and poached pears, the finish is long and layered.
The fruit is harvested and has 3 hours skin contact to aid in extraction of aromas and flavour. The grapes are gently pressed, tank fermented to 6.7g/litre of residual sugar adding weight. A 10% portion is fermented in old french oak barrels adding complexity. The two portions are then blended."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, December 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"It's finely scented on the nose, showing Nashi pear, rockmelon, Gala apple, and white floral aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit intensity with a fleshy texture and beautifully pitched acidity, finishing delectable and persistent. At its best: now to 2029."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, December 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"Bright, freshy, aromatic and youthful bouquet of apples and brown pears, there’s a touch of tropical fruit then a layer of ripe citrus. On the palate a just dry wine with a tickle of sweetness, then a core of ripe white fleshed fruit flavours from pear to white nectarine, lees and spice qualities and a clay mineral quality. Excellent acid line and length, overall a lovely example with best drinking from 2025 through 2028."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sammy Wilkinson, The Wine Writer, December 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"Peach, nectarine, ginger, and slate intertwine with orange blossom, creating a vibrant and inviting nose. A subtle reductive whisper adds complexity, while ripe stone fruit and Nashi pear dominate the palate, elegantly seasoned with baking spice. Rich and broad, the palate finishes succulent and juicy, with hints of pepper and ginger lingering on the long finish. A fine and sassy Pinot Gris—classy, voluptuous, and undeniably compelling."
