Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2024

Here's another great buy from Mt Riley, who seem to specialise in offering outstanding value wines. A bonnie wee rosé, juicy watermelon and cherry flavours abound.

Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Our 2024 Rosé was made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes. The Pinot Noir provides red fruit flavour and structure whilst the Pinot Gris adds floral aromatic lift and palate weight. The wine was fermented at cool temperatures to encourage and preserve its bright, lifted aromatics."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"Fresh and elegantly fragrant, the inviting bouquet shows ripe strawberry, melon, crunchy apple and lemon zest aromas. The palate is equally attractive with pristine fruit flavours combined with fine texture and juicy acidity, making it vibrant and super-tasty. At its best: now to 2026. "

4 Stars & Best Buy, Cuisine Rose Tasting, December 2024 (2024 Vintage)
"A pale to mid pink in the glass with a herbal note and just the slightest hint of reduction on the nose. The palate is bright and zingy thanks to the taut acid structure with thiol flavours emerging on this zippy and attractive rosé."
