Selected for the 2023 Appellation Marlborough Wine Collection
The more premium label from Mount Riley in Marlborough is simply loaded with fruit flavour and has lovely weight on the palate. And as always from Mount Riley, it's stacked with value.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Our Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc was made from a selection of our most expressive fruit from the 2023 vintage. The wine was made almost entirely from fruit from the warmer Wairau Valley sub-region in Marlborough with a smaller percentage coming from the cooler and drier Awatere Valley. The wine we’ve made shows impeccable fruit expression, concentration and balance.
Grapes were crushed and destemmed prior to pressing and fermentation was induced by the introduction of carefully selected yeast strains. We fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the lifted aromatics in this wine.
A complex and expressive nose showing passionfruit, crushed herb and blackcurrant with undertones of boxwood and citrus pith. A wine of striking fruit purity and concentration with fresh but balanced acidity and great length of flavour."

"…I really liked the Mount Riley Sauvignon that is definitely in the ‘classic’ group characterised by the vibrant fruit of this cool, sunny region.

Mostly grapefruit and blackcurrant bud but there's also something riper, like preserved green figs and passion fruit. Intense freshness and citrus/green fruits on the palate, with notably crisp acidity and a dry-tasting long grassy, taut finish. Long and succulent."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2023 Vintage)
"Offering top value, the bright, light lemon/green 2023 vintage was grown mostly in the Wairau Valley, with some Awatere Valley grapes in the blend. Tank-fermented, it is ripely scented and full-bodied, with generous, vibrant, passionfruit/lime flavours to the fore, a herbal undercurrent, and a crisp, dry (3.2 grams/litre of residual sugar), lingering finish."

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, January 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"Upfront and fabulously expressed, the wine shows kiwifruit, kaffir lime, lemongrass and jasmine aromas on the nose, leading to a powerfully expressed palate delivering terrific fruit purity and intensity. Wonderfully satisfying with loads of delicious flavours, finishing superbly long and mouth-watering. At its best: now to 2025."
