Winery notes (2015 Vintage)
"This wine is bold and very bright gold with classic old style dryness. The deep spice flavours gives great length and generosity on the back palate. This wine is an obvious match with pan-Asian fusion food.Fermentation on skins for several days allows an extraction of phenols and flavours which provide a layer of subtle characters in the mouth. Rich and harmonious the wine coats the mouth like golden liquor yet finishes with a dry tingle. Straw gold hues radiate luminosity, energy and light."

"The 2015 vintage of this Gisborne wine makes a big statement. Certified organic, it was fermented on its skins for several days, emerging with gold/amber colour and a well-spiced bouquet. Full of personality, it is sturdy (14.5 per cent alcohol), peachy, spicy and slightly honeyed, with hints of ginger and passionfruit, an oily richness and an off-dry (9.5 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"This is substantial and spectacular. The opulent bouquet shows mango, grilled stone fruit, honey, potpourri, clove and lemon curd aromas, followed by a gratifying palate that is filled with rich fruit intensity and velvety texture, as well as spicy undertones. Fascinating and irresistible. At its best: now to 2022."

"Deep, light orange-gold colour, paler on the edge. The nose is full and broad with aromas of fully-ripened tropical fruits, Turkish Delight, musk and honey harmoniously interwoven with marmalade and hints of root ginger. The nose possesses great richness and is opulent and decadent in expression. Mediumish to taste and full-bodied, the palate has bold and up-front flavours of ripe tropical fruits and Turkish Delight melded with musk, honey and marmalade. The flavours are rich and opulent, unfolding rounded decadence to fill the mouth, and are underlined by considerable alcoholic drive. The wine reveals a little varietal root-ginger bitterness, but remains soft and integrated as it carries with power to a long, and sustained finish. This is a bold and opulent mediumish Gewurztraminer with harmoniously integrated fruit and botrytis flavours of tropical fruits, Turkish Delight, honey, musk and marmalade, on a powerfully driven palate. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Riverpoint’ vineyard, 24% botrytised, tank-fermented on skins for a few days, to 14.5% alc. and 9.5 g/L RS. Certified BioGro organic and certified Demeter biodynamic."
