Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Mount Maude is a small vineyard owned by Dawn and Terry Wilson in the beautiful Maungawera Valley near Wanaka, New Zealand. Planted in 1994 on a steep, north–facing terraced slope, terrior of this vineyard combined with the long dry autumns experienced in Central Otago provide perfect growing conditions for the grapes.
Talc, slate, lime leaf & lavender – Whole bunch pressed and fermented to near dryness, this youthful and crisp expression of a Dry Riesling can be savoured now or rewarded in years to come."

5 Stars Michael Cooper (2021 Vintage)
"Hand-harvested from vines planted at Mt Maude Vineyard in 1994, the 2021 vintage has obvious cellaring potential. Bright, light lemon/green, it is scented, with intense, vigorous, citrusy, appley flavours, slightly peachy notes, and a basically dry (5.3 grams/litre of residual sugar), crisp, finely balanced and lingering finish. Best drinking 2026+."
Rated Outstanding & 96/100 Cameron Douglas MS, February 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Pure, fresh, ripe and lifted bouquet, fragrant and floral. Aromas of fresh lemon and lime, green apple and apricot stone. There’s no mistaking the minerality with a polished stone and delicate saline suggestions. Salivating, delicious, fresh and dry on the palate. The core of fruit and acidity drive the flavour journey across the palate flanked by minerality and a touch of white spice and lick of salt on the finish. A fantastic wine, best drinking from 2022 through 2035+."
Rated Excellent to Outstanding, Mark Henderson, ODT, April 2022 (2021 Vintage)
"Bright, youthful nose of gum, pear, orange zest, chopped herbs too. Hard candy, musk, pear and apple flood the palate, which retains a hint of spritz. Excellent fruit intensity, matched by zesty acidity, a chewy influence adding to the texture. Fruit sweet yet dry, vibrant and ever more racy with aeration. Draws you back for more. Delightfully crisp finish."
