When it comes to Riesling, few do it better than Pegasus Bay. Internationally acclaimed and masters of this expressive variety, their expertise shines through, even in their entry-level range.
Main Divide Riesling is a long-time favourite of ours, and it’s not hard to see why. This release is bursting with flavour, beautifully balanced, and effortlessly drinkable, it’s the kind of wine you’ll reach for again and again. We call it a comfort wine, reliable, charming, and always satisfying.
Like the rest of the Main Divide range, this bottle seriously overdelivers on quality, flavour, and value.
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"On release it has a pale gold hue. Fragrant and perfumed, the nose offers a rich tapestry of orange blossom and jasmine, interwoven with hints of lime peel, spiced apple, white fleshed pleach and a lick of honey. The palate has a delicious engagement, with a spritzy mouthfeel, attractive sweetness and beautifully infused acidity. These elements unite, adding structure and length, on the long, citrus laden finish."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"Fragrant, intense and varietal bouquet with a crisp apple and citrus attack. Aromas of lemon and red apple, honeysuckle, lime-flower and a lick of botrytis present an attractive offering. A lovely wine on the palate with flavours that reflect the bouquet as well as a cider note. Plenty of acidity for freshness and style leading to lengthy finish. Best drinking from early 2026 through 2030."

"Gorgeously fruited and seductively fragrant, showing grilled pineapple, mango, orange peel and warm spice aromas on the nose, followed by an opulent palate that's filled with rich fruit intensity combined with subtle sweetness and juicy acidity, making it delectable and highly enjoyable. Style: Medium. At its best: now to 2030."
5 Stars & 18.5/20 (93) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, July 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"Bright, even, pale yellow with depth and a green sheen. The nose is full, with lush aromas of mango, kumquat, sweet floral, honey and citrus. Medium-full bodied, medium-dry to taste, aromas of mango entwined with kumquat, honey, frangipani and citrus zest. The flavours are complex and lightly savoury; honey richness and fruit weight provide substance flows along a zingy acid line. This rich, medium-dry style Riesling is complex with tropical and citrus lead, enriched by honey and savoury botrytised elements, driving a charming, long finish. The grapes were picked in stages; some parcels were left to hang and harvested with a portion of noble botrytis. The free run juice was cool-fermented 12% alc, 24 g/l RS."

"Main Divide Riesling is North Canterbury's best-value Riesling, hands-down. Lush, fleshy and textural, it has intensely powerful ripe mandarin aromas, luscious lemon zet flavours and the ability to age for seven to eight years plus. This is New Zealand’s most consistently delicious Riesling under $25 every year."
