Getting quality $20 Pinot Noir is akin to mission impossible these days but luckily there are viable alternatives such as this very smart Syrah that seriously over delivers on all fronts.
Experienced winemaker Tim Adams discovers small parcels of Syrah in Hawkes Bay to end up in this limited release label. Eminently smashable, huge value, full bodied fruit driven wine from the very good 2021 vintage. What more could you want!
Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Aromas of dark cherry, rose petal and cracked pepper. The palate shows plums, red and dark berries, and cherries with red pepper corn cradled in spicy, cedar and tarry oak. Fine tannins and a persistent palate. Moreish and warm."

Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, December 2022 (2020 Vintage)
"Lovely dark fruited bouquet with accompanying spices, aromas of dark raspberry and plums laced with some wood spices and earthy stone scents. Lovely textures on the palate with flavours that mirror the bouquet, dark peppery spices and smoky wood scents, clove and vanilla. Raspberry and black currant, baking spices and smoky wood. A lovely wine with a backbone of acidity and delicious mouthfeel. Well made with best drinking from late 2022 through 2028."
