Jasci & Marchesani Montepulciano is an eye catching ruby red, with characteristic fruit driven aromas with hints of vanilla, balsamic and black olive. Full-bodied, powerful, yet very balanced with flavours of mulberry, currants, dark chocolate and a long, smoky finish.
This family estate was “organic before organics”. The sprightly octogenarian patriarch Sebastiano grew organic kiwifruit for export to Switzerland in the 1960s, long before organic certification was diffuse in Italy.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Jasci & Marchesani is a family-owned winery and certified organic since 1978. Winners of the Italian Winery of the Year in 2014, they specialize in wines that demonstrate outstanding value and quality for the price. Montepulciano is known for its brilliant red wines with herbaceous notes and strong tannins. On the nose, fruit-forward with aromas of vanilla, balsamic, and black olive. Full bodied and muscular on the palate, with flavours of red and dark berries, dark chocolate, and a medium-plus finish. Best paired with fatty meat dishes, spaghetti bolognaise, and beef renang. Harvested from select estates and aged in oak for 6 months."
Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast (2023 Vintage)
"The nose is dark and slightly medicinal, with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, herbs, licorice and dark chocolate. The palate leans into the fruit to the point of decadence—think blackberry crumble—but grippy tannins provide structure."
