Grant Burge is the 5th Generation of his family to be involved in winemaking in the Barossa Valley. Named in honour of that fact, the 5th Generation Shiraz is a bold and bright, typically Barossan style showing plenty in the oomph and drinkability factors.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Deep dark purple in colour, this wine instantly impresses with aromas of raspberry and blackberry, complemented by spice, subtle vanilla and coffee bean. Full bodied wine where the red fruits in the mid palate are balanced with integrated fine long tannins and hints of sweetness and spice from the oak. The soft integrated tannin structure gives the wine a real elegance and mid palate structure. The multi-layered depth of flavours and long lingering finish make this an impressive wine."

4 Stars Cuisine Australian Shiraz Tasting, June 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Deeply coloured with a touch of fade in the glass. Dark black fruits and savoury black olive aromas come through on the nose and onto the palate where the fruit sweetness is matched by juicy sweet tannins and lithe acid."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2022 (2020 Vintage)
"Very expressive bouquet and palate with flavours of baked red berry fruits and sweet barrel spices, violets and blackberry pie, raspberry and clove. Nicely complex, youthful and enticing. Quite a big structure with wood and fruit tannins taking hold early then giving way to sweet, ripe fruit flavours and refreshing acid line. Well made, youthful and taut, a wine that will develop well in your cellar over the next 1-3 years. Best drinking from 2024 through 2029+."
