A classic and great value Beaujolais-Villages that reminds us just how delicious Gamay Noir can be. This is seriously drinkable with juicy bright fruits and more depth and structure than is often associated with Beaujolais at this level.
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"38 communes (31 in the Rhône and 7 in the Saône et Loire) spread over 3 geographical areas with marked specificities, give life to Beaujolais-Villages, the first French appellation to use the term “Villages”. The word “villages” was adopted in 1950 to replace the multiplicity of commune names that could be added to the Beaujolais appellation label to distinguish productions considered superior.
This delectable red wine marks a sort of transition between the Beaujolais “tout court”, with its early-ripening character, and the prestigious Dix Crus.
Every nuance is possible, but the wines always combine finesse, aroma and body.
This Beaujolais-Villages displays a shiny garnet colour, and is superbly fruity, with aromas of red and black berries, with hints of cherry marmalade. Structured and generous mouthfeel with unctuous texture with silky tannins. Balanced."

"This structured wine shows a grip of tannins and bright acidity balanced by plenty of succulent red fruits and a hint of smoke. It could age a few months but is quite delicious now."

"A delicious, juicy Beaujolais with sliced dried-strawberry and blackberry character. Hints of walnuts. Medium body. Light, fine tannins and a juicy finish. Drink now."

"The appellation of Beaujolais-Villages signifies a wine made from grapes grown in the 38 wine-making villages of the Beaujolais production area. The slightly elevated area connects the flat Beaujolais plain with the charming rolling hillsides of the ten famed crus that grow to the north. At its best, BV is a fruity red wine emphasis on the red fruit that is uncomplicated but stylish with a savoury, mouth-watering style that will make you want to sip glass after glass. It’s the perfect foil to grilled chicken or a fresh piece of cheese. In the case of this 2018, the fruit is slightly darker, but the acidity is healthy, A juicy affair that finishes dry. Fine value."

"The most recognisable Beaujolais-Villages out there is a dependable gateway into the appellation's style – it has a light, floral, creamy nose with a palate that's got some texture and a decent weight of mostly red fruit, joined by some simple blackberry and peppery spice notes. Medium length on the finish."
94/100 Gourmet Wine Traveller, April/May 2017 (2015 Vintage)
"Gained our universal support. Pritzker spoke first, "Opens with bright dark cherry aromas. Medium-bodied, juicy and supple with excellent intensity and concentration leading to a long flavourful finish. Lovely balance." I thought it had the depth and structure of a good Cru wine with good weight, sweet fruit and firm, balanced tannins, thanks to both the 2015 vintage and the producer's skill."
