Winery Notes (2024 Vintage)
"Aromatics are reminiscent of mandarin, wet stone and savoury elements. A signature bees wax note is subtly showing also. Complex mineral palate, with orange citrus and stone fruit flavours held together by good line of juicy acidity and an elegant texture.
Fruit for the ‘Classic’ came from all five Riesling blocks our Estate with picking dates falling between the 20 March and 15 of April. The flavours that we are looking for on the vine for this style are that of orange citrus and stone fruit.
Each parcel was handpicked and whole bunch pressed to allow for gentle extraction. Juices were predominately fermented in stainless steel tanks with a small portion fermented and aged in acacia barrels and sandstone vessel which add a textural quality. All components were held on full ferment lees without preservative to allow the wine to ‘live’ for around five months prior to being blended and bottled."
Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"Totally inviting bouquet of fresh citrus led by lemon and mandarin peel, apple and lemon zest. Delicious on the palate, just dry with any RS overpowered by the acid line, a taut engaging and salivating wine mouthfeel. Flavours of lime and lemon, apple and floral spices, zest and wet stone soils. This wine hums along on the palate with a natural quiver and tension. Delicious, fresh and ready to drink from 2026 through 2036+."
95/100 James Halliday's Wine Companion (2024 Vintage)
"Organic fruit from vines around 44 years in age. Lemon wedges and zested limes over Greek yoghurt. This springs to life with apple and citrus intensity. It has a calcite mineral edge that powers down the palate with some pear nectar and sweet Crown melon. Its balance of fruit, freshness and concentration is supreme. Value? Outstanding, demonstrating why Framingham is such a leader in Riesling."
