La Multa Garnacha is a fruit driven Grenache from Scottish Master of Wine based in Calatayud, Spain. It has pronounced aromas of raspberry, cherry and prune with complex earthy notes of spice and leather. Full bodied with fine, soft tannins and well balanced acidity.
El Escocés Volante (The Flying Scotsman) is the winery run by Norrel Robertson MW, who touched down with his family in Spain in 2003 and released his first wine in 2004 (Manga del Brujo). Norrel has been making wine in Spain for over 14 years and is currently one of three Master of Wines living in Spain. He was born and raised in Scotland. Norrel works hand in hand with local growers in Calatayud to source old vine blocks of exceptional quality to make wines with real character.
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2023 (2020 Vintage)
"It's splendidly ripe and fragrant on the nose with sweet plum, dark cherry, green olive and warm spice aromas, leading to a silky-smooth palate that's juicy and rounded. Beautifully framed by finely infused tannins, offering terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2026."
David Williams, Decanter
"One of many superb – and superbly priced – Garnacha bottlings from the flying Scotsman, Norrel Robertson MW, this wine is soft and generous in feel with its abundant fresh red fruit, old-vine depth and hints of herbal freshness."
