From a long line of wine growers passing down from father to son, Charles Audoin took over the family property in 1972 with his wife Marie Francoise. Charles’ son Cyril joined his father in 2000 and is now responsible for the vines and winemaking. Located within the commune of Marsannay La Cote, the domaine stretches over almost 35 acres, and the diversity of soils and grapes makes it possible to produce a range of fourteen different wines.
Renowned for the quality and consistency of its wines, which are regularly selected for contests and whose excellent value for money is often given special mention, the Domaine Charles Audoin uses traditional winemaking methods.
90-92/100 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feburary 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Scents of cherries, raspberries, orange rind and dried flowers introduce the 2018 Marsannay Au Champ Salomon, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine that's deep and concentrated but more introverted than the other lieux-dits bottlings that preceded it. The raw materials, however, are decidedly promising".
90-93/100 Allen Meadows, Burghound (2018 Vintage)
"A top note of menthol is present on the herbal tea, red cherry, raspberry and soft earth wisps. There is first-rate intensity to the beautifully well-detailed and mineral-driven flavours that coat the palate with dry extract while delivering excellent length on the firm, serious and equally built-to-age finale. Good stuff."
