Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Aroha, meaning love, is made from the finest parcels of Pinot Noir grown on the upper terrace of our Te Muna Road Vineyard in Martinborough. These parcels are hand-harvested, naturally fermented and matured for an extended period in French oak before a final selection and bottling. Aroha is complex and balanced, straddling that line between power and beauty. A serious Pinot Noir that will reward cellaring for at least a decade from vintage."

Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2024 (2022 Vintage)
"A sense of place and purity of fruit, variety and complexity lead to a plate filled with flavours of cherries and strawberries, mushroom and baking spices, stony brown soils and a fine wood smoke quality. A lighter weighted wine touches the palate with complexity from needle-point tannin textures and and core purity of fruit flavours. lengthy and delicious with best drinking from late 2024 through 2033+."

5 Stars & 98/100 Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, June 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Fragrant, floral pinot noir with cassis, dark cherry, red rose, cacao nib the dominant flavours right now and many other more subtle characters in support. I love the enlivening acid and tannic structure which gives the wine an exciting energy. Although it can certainly be appreciated now, it promises to develop even greater complexity with bottle age."

17/20 JancisRobinson.com, February 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"Still-youthful crimson. Lifted nose and quite savoury and burgundian. Transparent and youthful with real zest and potential. Lots of way to go. But so refreshing and intricate already. Tannins obvious. Lots of energy."

94+/100 Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, May 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"63% whole bunch and 36% new French oak. Dark cherry and plum, dried roses, a little sweet spice and cedar, and that regional sort of tamarillo and scrub herb thing. It’s medium-bodied, but quite dense, a little pomegranate tang and chicory bitterness through dark fruit and ripe strawberry, a bit of a ‘mineral’ feel here too, along with well-packed cocoa powder tannin. Finish is long, sappy and quite firm. A more nuanced wine than previous iterations, perhaps. Very good."
