Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"Our new Estate Range replaces the Petit Clos – showing vivacity, concentration and brightness, the Estate wines are crafted from both our glacial stones and windblown clay terroirs. Combining the best nuances of Marlborough and our Sancerre heritage, this organic Pinot Noir is our flagship wine from the Clos Henri estate in Blenheim.
Freshly squeezed cherries and plums, this Estate Pinot Noir is flush with abundant aromas of dark red fruits and a licorice undercurrent. Exuberant and densely concentrated, the lively palate has notes of cherry liqueur and macerated plums which are all bound together with firm, textural tannins."

"Aromas of violet, rose, red cherries and rosemary stem. Medium-bodied with silky tannins. Succulent and juicy, with a solid core of rounded red fruit. Oolong comes through. Lovely tension. Structured to age nicely."
94/100 & Editors' Choice, Wine Enthusiast (2019 Vintage)
"The wine is the colour of freshly squeezed cherry juice, and the vibrant nose offers oodles of plump summer berries just off the bush, along with stalky, floral undertones. The palate is equally exuberant, the juicy fruit wound by firm, textural tannins. A charmer of a wine for knocking back at a barbecue."
4 ½ Stars Michael Cooper (2019 Vintage)
"Certified organic, the 2019 vintage is based on Clos Henri's youngest vines. Estate-grown and hand-harvested in the Wairau Valley, it was matured for 11 months in large (7500-litre) French oak vats. Deep ruby, it is mouthfilling, with very good density of ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, and fine, supple tannins. Already highly enjoyable, it's also full of youthful vigour. and well worth cellaring."
92/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.com, March 2023 (2019 Vintage)
"A wine from Marlborough, made from the Clos Henri Estate vineyards that feature at least three different soil structures across the 110 hectare estate. A mid-depth ruby colour in the glass, with a very appealing perfume, showing raspberry, red cherry, orange peel, plum, lavender and musk rose. There’s also a bloody, smoked meat note on the nose, and a cinnamon, nutmeg spice as well. A pop of ripe fruit greets the palate – pure, juicy and vibrant. Light on its feet, with a terrific balance but firm structure of fine-grained, dry tannin, subtle oak and bright acidity. The immediacy of fruit slows, and an elegant vinous, savoury character emerges mid-palate. A stony minerality and more spice cocoons the finish, which has focus and length."
92/100 & Buy of the Week, Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review, May 2023 (2019 Vintage)
"Silken-textured pinot noir with dark cherry, plum, grape stems and a backbone of peppery tannins. Firmly-structured wine with intensity and cellaring potential. Nicely layered with a lingering finish. Clearly the product of a very favourable vintage."
