Chocolate Box Shiraz from Rocland Estate in the Barossa Valley has a huge following. Fantastically packaged with a whimsical retro label, it's what's in the bottle that really gets everybody excited. This is big, bold Barossa Shiraz with rich dark fruit and chocolate flavours, all wrapped up in a decadently round and somewhat fulsome mouthfeel. Completely satisfying.
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Deep mulberry red with aromas of plums with hints of black pepper and spicy oak. The palate shows Satsuma plum characters underpinned by dark chocolate and subtle French oak. Soft tannins and a persistent fruit finish."

90/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"It's fruit forward and immediately appealing on the nose with dark plum, sweet cherry, tar, mixed spice and roasted nut aromas. The palate displays excellent weight and succulent fruit intensity together with silky texture and polished tannins, making it flavoursome and delectable. At its best: now to 2028."
4 Stars Cuisine Australian Shiraz Tasting, June 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Jo Gear was a big fan of this wine, which is an unusually atypical expression of the Barossa. Gamey, salty and wild, this has funky and savoury flavours overlaying fine tannins and a core of sweet fruit. Not the biggest or most powerful wine, but certainly a conversation-starter."
91/100 Cameron Douglas MS, May 2021 (2019 Vintage)
"Aromas of dark berries and black currant, dusty clove and vanilla spices, soft brown sugar and chocolate, a whisper of fruit cake and five spice with a calm, modern and overall pleasantly scented bouquet. Dry on the palate with a core of toasty baked red berry fruit flavours, medium acidity, moderate tannins and nuances of baking spices and chocolate. Balanced and complete with best drinking from day of purchase and through 2025."
