Château Peymouton 2019 is a beautifully balanced and elegant Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, with bright fruit, refined tannins, and a touch of earthy complexity. A superb wine that showcases the best of the vintage and terroir. An exceptional Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.
Situated within the historic estate of Château Laroque, Château Peymouton showcases the elegance of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. Established in 1996 from 31 hectares of high-altitude vineyards, its soils—rich clay over limestone and deep red clay—lend structure, density, and refinement to its wines.
Managed with the same expertise and attention to detail as its Grand Cru Classé counterpart, Château Peymouton blends Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvested parcel by parcel for optimal ripeness, the wines are crafted to highlight vibrant fruit and freshness. The result is a wine that embodies the historic terroir’s charm and can be enjoyed after just a few years of cellaring.
Winery notes (2019 Vintage)
"Château Peymouton has a wonderful deep ruby colour. It reveals a rich and elegant nose with delicious aromas of blackcurrant and plum. On the palate the attack is powerful, with fine, silky tannins. There are beautiful notes of ripe red fruits and the subtle minerality on the finish contributes to the freshness of the wine."
91/100 Georgina Hindle, Decanter, January 2022 (2019 Vintage)
"Such an expressive nose, combining exotic fruits – pineapple and mango – with ripe oranges. Gorgeous. Rich on the palate but not heavy, with a lovely concentration of fruit flavours and enough acidity to keep things lifted. There's definite orange on the palate – both juice and zest – which is really appealing, fresh and vibrant. Easy, crowd-pleasing drinking."
