"The De Boüard de Laforest family at Angélus has been dedicated to the production of great wines for eight generations. Recently, under the impetus of Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, the President of Angélus, the estate created a new wine called Tempo d’Angélus.

This new addition to the range of wines of Château Angélus, made under the Bordeaux appellation, offers a more streamlined version of its illustrious elders -Angélus, Carillon d’Angélus and N°3 d’Angélus, with which it shares the same depth and complexity while being at the same time more approachable young.

The aim of Tempo d’Angélus is to demystify the approach to great wines, in offering a top quality wine, produced from the great Angélus terroirs and made with the expertise of its teams, at the most affordable price levels. It has been created to provide a window that opens out onto the world of grands crus, which will allow demanding wine enthusiasts to enjoy a wine that is structured, complex and delicious to drink, without having to wait 15 or 20 years, as they often have to for our grands crus.

Clear and dark, the 2023 Tempo d'Angelus bursts with fresh red berry fruit aromas, tiny berries and cherries, enhanced by subtle notes of oak. On the palate, there is a sensation of verticality and enhanced by a fine acidity which give the wine great freshness and pure fruit character. The finish is lingering with subtle notes of roasted coffee beans and oak coming through."

"Racy fruit with hawthorn, rose hips, red berries and cherries. Linear, with a nice structure, but nothing heavy from the fruit flesh in the middle. Fine-grained, with medium body and a chewy but juicy finish. Needs two more years to allow the fruit tannins to round off. More bones than flesh this year. Drink after 2026."

It's beautifully balanced and has integrated acidity and fine tannins. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc aged 18 months in barrel."
