Corbières is perhaps better known for its red wines but this is an excellent example of its whites, from an historic property in the far north of the region, just to the south of Minervois. A blend of typical south of France varieties are aged on their lees for six months, a portion fermented in new oak barrels to give extra richness and complexity, producing a rounded, medium-bodied white, floral and aromatic with bright, ripe fruit and underlying mineral freshness.
Located north of Corbières appellation, the domaine spread over 180 hectares, 60 hectares of which in the Corbières AOP and 30 hectares in the IGP Aude Hauterive. Protected from the winds by forest the vines are planted on gravel terraces with a southerly aspect. The low yielding Syrah and Grenache vines are 30+ years old with the Carignan being well over 80.
