Chateau Garage is the exciting small batch project of Ollie Powrie – former Head Viticulturist for Villa Maria and well known character on the Hawke's Bay wine scene.

Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Perfectly ripe Cabernet Sauvignon in pristine condition was harvested from block 3 on the 10th of April 2023. The fermenting wine was hand plunged and post fermentation pressed to five fine, French oak barrels. Aromas of wild berries and bramble with an intense palate of brooding dark fruit with power and ripe tannins."

"Cornerstone Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 fits nicely into the signature of Ollie’s wines. I see a similarity to that 2021 expression that got a 95/100 score from me. As a fan of ‘pre-Parker’ clarets, there is a lightness of touch, and power without too much weight, that appeals. Tannin here is supple and balanced with the lively acidity. Just a nibble of savoury flavour at this time, with graphite and dark peppery spices whispering at the edges."
