Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"One Vineyard. Three Germanic Luminaries… Düfte Punkt is an aromatic paradigm-shift. A seamless single vineyard field blend of spicy Gewürztraminer, precise Riesling and textural Kerner (Weißer Herold). Striking tropical and turkish delight aromas introduce a complex palate showing lychees, mandarins, minerality and a lingering powder-puff of florals. The Fechner brothers' applauded vineyard in the Eden Valley is unique for both its spectacular aromatics and its unique varietal mix. This wines screams food and good times… and now the incredible 10th vintage 2023 release is here!"
93/100 Dave Brookes, James Halliday's Wine Companion (2023 Vintage)
"A funky field blend of co-fermented riesling, gewürztraminer and kerner from the Fechner vineyard. Light straw in the glass with heady aromas of citrus, peach skin and poached pear along with hints of Turkish delight, mineral salts, pressed wildflowers, clotted cream and almond paste. Über-slinky and textural on the palate with citrus and yellow plum fruits expanding then contracting with a tight flex of nervy acidity propelling long, perfumed and savoury on the exit."
4 Stars Cuisine Other Whites Tasting, February 2025 (2023 Vintage)
"A funky blend of gewürztraminer, riesling and kerner that makes very attractive drinking with bright citrus notes, lovely white florals, ripe stonefruit and a sprinkling of heady spice. The palate is well structured and weighted with fantastic drive."
92/100 Cameron Douglas MS, August 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"An exciting bouquet of exotic fruits, peaches and spiced apple custard ideas, apricots and flowers. A silky texture as the wine touches the palate supported by and moderate acid line and phenolic textures. Balanced and well made, a wine ready to drink with any and all Asian cuisines, and fresh seafood. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2028+."
90/100 Huon Hooke, The Real Review, November 2023 (2023 Vintage)
"Very light yellow colour; delicate dried peach, dried pear aromas, attractive lychee/spicy almost gewurzy high notes. The wine is generous and rich on palate yet also restrained and not too heavy. There is texture and it's soft and fleshy, the finish not fully dry but nicely balanced and very approachable young."
