Bold and generous, this 2023 Montepulciano is a quintessential Abruzzo classic, crafted with an artisanal touch and full of rustic charm. Expect juicy dark berries, ripe plum, and a hint of spice, all wrapped up in a smooth, easy-going finish. It’s rich enough to satisfy, yet soft enough to keep you coming back for another glass.
You’ll notice the little twig tied to the bottle, which isn’t just for show but is actually cut from the vines during annual pruning in Abruzzo and placed by hand on each bottle! “Vino di Tralcetto,” meaning “wine of the little twig,” has been part of the winery’s identity since the late 1970s, and while the idea is simple, it’s one that people remember.
Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Medium purple-red colour with violet hues. The nose opens to notes of red berries and spicy nuances of white pepper. On the palate we can find a correspondence of olfactory scents, good persistence with soft and balanced tannins."
90/100 JamesSuckling.com (2023 Vintage)
"Rich yet lifted, offering dark berries, citrus peel, sweet spices and crushed stones on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied and intense, with crunchy acidity and firm tannins shaping a gently exposed structure."
