Black Estate have certainly established themselves as one of the stars of Waipara in recent years. Their wines are outstanding across the board and their winery restaurant is so busy it can be a challenge to get into on the weekend! This is fantastic Pinot and equally as nice at home as it is at Black Estate.

"Perfumed red fruits, supple and elegant. Fine tannin, poise. Fruit was grown at the original Black Estate vineyard from 30 year old ungrafted vines and a small portion of the 13 year old top block. Calcareous clay soils. Unfiltered and unfined wine. Decanting will allow maximum expression of aroma and purity of fruit. Drink now to 2032."

"Savoury and complex, varietal and new. A lively bouquet with scents of boysenberries and plums, bracken and salty mineral flinty qualities. Spices from wood and earth frame the fruit with a light wild flower lift. Taut and dry with a youthful intensity, firm polished tannins and acidity frame the core of fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet, lengthy and well made with best drinking from 2026 through 2034+."
