A run-away success over the past 5 releases, we've had to wait a couple of years for this latest iteration, Batch #6 Shiraz. It's a beauty.
This is one of those once-a-year opportunity to access a very special Barossan Shiraz at an even more special price!
A hush-hush, small-batch stunner from a top South Australian estate. Made with premium old vine fruit from a steep hillside vineyard, this full-bodied red is bursting with ripe dark berries and spicy oak, backed by silky tannins and serious structure.
Crafted by a 20-vintage winemaking veteran, this barrel selection was destined for a much more premium bottling. But thanks to a surplus of top-tier fruit, it’s landed here as a secret-label release, at a price that’s downright jaw-dropping!
From a 5 Star Halliday-rated winery and a 9/10 vintage, aged up to 2 years in oak, this is the kind of Aussie Shiraz collectors scoop by the case… then beg us for more when it’s gone.
And with limited stocks, it will be gone fast.
Importer notes (2022 Vintage)
"The 2022 Barossa Valley vintage produced wines that are particularly strong, that show elegance and structure, with depth and length of flavour.
Sourced from a Halliday Wine Companion 5* winery, premium old vine Southern Barossa Valley Shiraz from a steep hillside single vineyard planted in the late 80’s, with higher altitude and a slightly cooler climate.
Crushed into open top fermenters, then gently pumped over to obtain optimal colour and contain the complex fruit flavours. 20% new oak barrels, the balance seasoned, French, American and Hungarian aged for between 18-24 months. The goal here is to not distract from the premium quality fruit on offer, whilst expressing the vibrant fruit flavours."
5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (2022 Vintage)
"Upfront and instantly appealing, the wine shows black/blueberry, warm spice, floral, and cedar notes on the nose, followed by a weighty palate that displays a plump mouthfeel and silky tannins. Flavoursome and fabulously drinkable"
