Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Gravel Track pays tribute to the long gravel and limestone track that winds its way through our historic 60-year-old Farms vineyard.
Sourced from premium vineyards in the Barossa, this wine was fermented at cooler temperatures for ten days followed by secondary fermentation and maturation in a combination of French and American oak for twelve months to add greater complexity and depth to the wine.
2020 was an exceptionally dry season with minimal rainfall throughout the growing season. This combined with high winds through flowering and heat spikes during ripening meaning yields were lower than average. Although a low yielding year, the quality was high, with intense colour and concentrated fruit flavours. On average temperatures throughout the season were lower than average which allowed optimal flavour and tannin development.
Vibrant plum and blackberry characters on the nose with hints of chocolate and earthiness flow through to a rich, bold palate packed with dark fruit flavours. Juicy and fruit driven, powerful yet elegant and with hints of black pepper spice through the mid-palate lead to a rich, velvety tannin finish."

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, November 2023 (2019 Vintage)
"Richly fruited and perfumed, the wine shows blackberry, vanillin oak, dark chocolate and cake spice aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate displaying plump mouthfeel and silky texture. Energetic with excellent substance and body, finishing long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2030"
