A sixth generation Barossa winemaker, Trent Burge grew up in and on Barossa soil. Riding trail bikes around the vineyards, playing local cricket and footy, he had dirt under his nails and Barossa blood in his veins. Trent’s objective is to continue what generations before have created, showcasing the Barossa’s most loved varietals and telling untold stories of a life lived in this extraordinary region. Six generations in the making.
Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"The Barossa Boy was once just ‘the little tacker’ to his parents, Helen and Grant. He enjoyed a free-range Barossa childhood, scrawling bike tracks through the vineyards and making plenty of mischiefs.
Our Little Tacker GSM is the ultimate Barossa wine blend: fruitful, fun and youthful. Like an adventurous child, it begins vibrant and full of lively fruitiness, then gradually reveals its underlying spice and complexity. Its deeper notes hint at hair-raising adventures, evocative of fearless and carefree outdoor days that stretched forever. To Trent, each mouthful is a reminder that every winding dirt path was part of the little tacker’s Barossa story, and led him right here today.
Cheeky red-purple hues, with ripe raspberry, licorice and floral aromas. A generous and round palate with juicy raspberry coulis, blackberry fruits and caramel. The three grape varieties team up in an exceptionally well-balanced harmony and are highlighted by fine, understated oak tannin."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, April 2023 (2018 Vintage)
"Dark ruby, red and purple rimmed appearance. Aromas of fresh juicy fleshed berries, moments of milk chocolate and plums, baking spice and wisps of pepper. Clove and vanilla oak scents layer in complexity and power. Equally juicy and fleshy on the palate with a core of ripe red berry fruits, plums, baked raspberry and toasty baking spices of oak. The peppery notes are persistent. Firm tannins with a back bone of acidity. Well made, youthful and ready to drink 2024 through 2030."
