"This delicious dessert wine is a fortified wine made from a blend of our best Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) and Syrah (10%) picked at optimal ripeness, fermented and then lightly fortified to preserve the fruit sugars and alluring aromatics. Brooding, sumptuous and fruity with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry and spice. The palate is generous with layers of fruit and soft tannins. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to dark chocolate
The fruit for this wine was grown on the stony, sandy lower terrace of Askerne Vineyard. After the fruit was harvested it was fermented for a short period of time which was stopped by the addition of alcohol. The wine was then aged in older French oak barriques for around 12 months."

Note, for orders of 1 - 2 bottles we charge an additional $5 for packaging. To ensure the safety of the bottles we use specially designed posting boxes.

Founded by John and Kathryn Loughlin in 1993, Askerne Estate winery has enjoyed steady growth. Their dedication to vineyard expansion and cultivation of various grape varieties has been met with success, despite challenges such as frost and inclement weather.
The winery marked its 25th anniversary in 2018, introducing new wine styles and engaging customers with a unique gourmet picnic concept. The recent addition of winemaker Cairn Coghill has further bolstered the expertise of the team.
The 2021 vintage proved exceptional for Askerne, with a remarkable collection of gold medals and accolades. Notably, their cellar door was acknowledged as the best of the year.
