Winemaking Success. Marketing failure – This is a classic case of where the marketing didn't quite match the excellent winemaking efforts.
Produced by the very large Constellation Brands NZ – Kim Crawford, Nobilo, Selaks.. and while those wines are aimed at the high volume/lower end of the market, this limited edition range was introduced to showcase the very best that they can produce. To go alongside that, the packaging was very expensive and the bottles individually wrapped in tissue… and with a premium price tag. Should have worked but obviously didn't, so the accountants have put a red line through the range. Enjoy the savings (check the previous price online).
A rich, ripe and bold Hawkes Bay Chardonnay. Light yellow gold in the glass with a full on tantalising leesy bouquet filled with toasty, biscuity, nutty, lemony, mealy notes and powerful in the seamless palate yet not overpowering. It’s decadently toasty with peaches and cream, flint and gunsmoke notes and a beautifully balanced dry savoury oak finish that's long and persistent with a touch of cedary salinity.
*Please note: Due to size and weight of these bottles our usual freight rates, $10 South Island, $12 North Island, will apply per case of six bottles for orders outside of Christchurch. We will contact you if applicable.
