Trophy for Champion Rose – New Zealand International Wine Show 2024
Double Gold Medal – New Zealand International Wine Show 2024
Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"This refreshing style Rose was made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, grown on our family owned vineyard. The vibrant pink colour resulted from a gentle whole bunch press. The juice was fermented in stainless steel to retain the varietal and fruit characteristics.
The wine shows delightful aromas of white peach, strawberry and candy floss with an abundance of stone fruit, cranberry and lime zest on the palate. A perfect summer aperitif and is best served chilled."
NZIWS Judges' Comments (2024 Vintage)
"Stunning pale, bright pink with an elegant perfume of rose petals, fresh peach, raspberry, strawberries and cream with a touch of vanilla. Notes from the bouquet are mimicked by the palate. Deliciously dry, enjoy with or without food."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2024 (2024 Vintage)
This is instantly appealing on the nose, showing sweet cherry, nectarine, watermelon and lemon zest aromas. The palate delivers fine flow and bright fruit flavours, well supported by crisp acidity, making it super tasty and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2027."
92/100 David Walker Bell, WineFolio.co.nz (2024 Vintage)
"A wine from Central Otago – winner of the Trophy for Champion Rosé at the NZIWS in 2024. An appealing pale coral pink colour. The bouquet has strawberry, watermelon, red liquorice, cherry and peach, as well as a lift of rose petal and lilac florals. Although the palate is dry, the ripeness of the fruit keeps things lush and juicy. There’s a creaminess to the texture and just a hint of phenolic, apple-skin tannins that also aids the complexity – and a pithy quality towards the finish. Both serious and appealing then – no wonder it is a winner."
