Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"Located in the Rioja Alta and the Rioja Alavesa, the vineyard is grown mainly using a traditional goblet-pruned system on very poor calcareous soil with a clay loam texture. The fermentation and maceration process is carried out over 20 days in stainless steel vats. The daily pumping over routine allows an optimal extraction of colour and tannins. The aging process lasts for 24 months, including three rackings in 225 litre American and French oak barrels. The wine matures in the bottle for two years before it is released to the market.
Classic ruby red colour with brick tones. Very complex and intense nose, with fine aromas from the aging process perfectly assembled: vanilla, spices and aromatic herbs. Memories of a very ripe fruit appear. On the palate it is a balanced and very fine wine, with a polished and elegant body and a very long and pleasant aftertaste. It pairs especially well with roasts of lamb, cutlets with vine shoots, fish in sauce and smoked and cured cheeses. Excellent wine to accompany desserts with chocolate."

5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2021 (2016 Vintage)
"Gorgeously complex and inviting, the bouquet shows dried cherry, vanilla, hazelnut, cake spice and cedar notes, followed by a concentrated palate offering beautifully layered mouthfeel combined with silky tannins. A wonderfully maturing red with immense drinkability. At its best: now to 2026."
