"This Central Otago Riesling is a tribute to the gold-seeking quartz reef miners affectionately known as ‘reefers’ and their unrelenting graft for a better life.
The Bannock Brae Reefers Riesling is grown in Central Otago terraces of sandy loam and alluvial gravels that overlie schist bedrock.The grapes were hand-picked and after whole bunch pressing the juice was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel. The resulting wine was left on its fermentation lees for 6 months to develop texture and length on the palate.
Citrus peel, white florals and fresh ginger aromas. Crisp entry that reveals mandarin and ripe stone fruits, before a long elegant minerality to finish."

"A Central Otago Riesling named as a tribute to the gold miners who worked the quartz reefs and were nicknamed ‘reefers’. A pale lemon-green colour in the glass. Varietal scents of crisp apple, ginger, lychee, mandarin, honeydew melon and jasmine. On the cusp of dry to off-dry on the palate, where the ripe fruit meets a sliver of residual sugar and brisk acidity, creating great tension and energy. A stony minerality flows around the edges, and a pithy prickle pricks the tongue. Towards the finish there’s also a cosset of creamy texture that gives balance and smooths out the persistent finale."
