Col d’Orcia is one of Montalcino’s historic estates, with winemaking roots dating back to the 19th century. The estate was acquired by the Marone Cinzano family in 1973, who recognised Montalcino’s potential long before Brunello became a global icon. Today, Count Francesco Marone Cinzano continues that family legacy, with the estate focused on Sangiovese, terroir and sustainability. The entire estate has been organically farmed since 2010, making Col d’Orcia a benchmark producer for the region.

"The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is spicy, mixing cedar shavings with cloves, spiced orange and dried strawberries. It sweeps across the palate with ease, silky smooth and racy, displaying ripe red berry fruits and sour citrus. The 2022 leaves the senses reeling through the finish, ripe in style yet fresh and spry, with a pleasantly bitter tinge of ground clove that fades slowly."
