Winery notes (2024 Vintage)
"Our 2024 Riesling greets you with gorgeous Eden Valley fresh citrus and orange blossom aromatics. From the start, to the marvellously long finish, the superbly balanced lemon, lime, and green apple flavours race across the palate with lovely zesty qualities that enhance the natural soft acid feel. Underlying minerality helps form an elegant and lengthy raft for the refreshing bounty of citrus to play on.
Our Mackenzie William Riesling is named after our eldest grandson Mack. Our Eden Valley Riesling grapes are delicately picked from our longstanding vines planted in the 1960s, and 1980s, and from our cherished, deep-rooted 1890s vines – believed to be some of, if not the oldest in Australia. Each batch of fruit bestows its unique attributes, creating quintessential Eden Valley citrus and minerally characteristics which our region is so well known for, and a complexity that ensures our dry style’s impressive length of finish.
Made in an approachable style, to be enjoyable upon release, but will also age gracefully for a decade under the right cellaring conditions, for those who enjoy an aged Riesling."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Octboer 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"Offering excellent fruit purity, the inviting bouquet shows lemon sorbet, green apple, lime cordial and white flower nuances. It's concentrated and finely focused in the mouth, displaying refined texture backed by racy acidity, finishing impressively long and linear. At its best: 2027 to 2039."
91/100 Cameron Douglas MS, November 2025 (2024 Vintage)
"An excellent bouquet with a lime and lemon gentle toasty drive leading to a mix of floral scents and peach then apple and a touch of spice. A dry wine on the palate with flavours that mirror the bouquet beginning with lime and makrut leaf, then some apple and clay soil suggestions. There’s a nice seam of flintiness adding to the style and length. A wine for summer and food pairing with best drinking from 2025 through 2030."
