"Lulu rosé is the darling of the New Zealand restaurant trade and adored by wine lovers for it's complex and seductive blend of Fresia, Marzemino, Teroldego and Merlot.

Unique in the World of wine, this Italian inspired rosé is carefully pressed and wild fermented in numerous oak aged vessels with no intervention while aging aside from the occasional barrel stir. The exotic fruit notes, nutty complexity and wonderful balance has to be experienced to be believed. Wild strawberries, orchard fruits, blood orange and floral aromas, perfectly balanced with a complex and crisp dry palate."

"The Rosé of the Year 2026 showcases Italian varieties grown in Hawke’s Bay: marzemino, teroldego and freisa—from the Dolce Vista Vineyard—with a tiny portion of sangiovese from another vineyard. These were wild-fermented in seasoned oak, and Ollie Powrie added a small portion of merlot—also from Dolce Vista—this year to round off the blend. Beautifully balanced between fruit, savouriness and spice, it shows the potential of a different style of rosé for New Zealand.

Light salmon-pink. A complex, perfumed and savoury rosé with layers of spice, orange peel, ripe peach, rosemary, lavender and gently grippy tart cherry flavours on the finish. Grainy-textured with a hint of cream and a softer, broader acidity which fans out across the long, cinnamon spiced finish. It’s holding its savouriness and freshness well."

"Wild strawberry with the caps on lends a pleasant green top note, perfume, spice and almond. Juicy, strawberry, raspberry and tangerine, a light powdery texture, somewhat nutty, acidity sits neatly in the wine, and the finish is excellent. A delight to drink."
