Jen Parr, Winemaker notes (2023 Vintage)
"A pale golden hue with aromas of pear blossom, nashi pear, lemon, cream soda, and sea salt. The palate is complex and layered with flavours of crunchy pear, lemon zest, lime juice, and green apple; complementing a finely textured palate with great flow and salivating acidity. This sophisticated young wine is both charming and intense. It aptly captures the ethereal nature of the Waitaki and has great ageing potential. This Pinot Gris is engaging on its own but shows real magic when paired with delicious cuisine."
Number 3, WineFolio.co.nz Top 10 Pinot Gris Tasting, April 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"A region well-regarded for aromatic wines – with this exemplary producer leading the way. A bouquet of lemon peel, white pepper, nashi pear, lime, crushed green herbs and white spring flowers. Quite crisp and dry in expression, with a pithy, textural quality strung across the palate. The breezy acidity is heading in the saline direction, but driving a pure, straight line throughout. Complex, with “some fuzzy tannins” popping up; and even a deeper, vanilla, honey note towards the finish."
Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, June 2024 (2023 vintage)
"A delicious wine with aromas and flavours of sweet green pear and red apple flesh, there’s a fine flinty layer and quiet spice seam through the palate. Plenty of acidity for freshness and to carry the flavours, there’s a fine texture too with a soft chalky mouthfeel and quality. Well made, pure and delicious. Best drinking from late 2025 through 2030+."

"Waitaki Valley is the smallest wine region in Aotearoa with fewer than 50 hectares of grapes that typically make high quality wines in low volumes. This light-bodied, lightly aromatic wine is dry with RS of less than two grams per litre, which is well balanced by refreshing aromas of white pear and white peach. A wine that drinks well now and will mellow over the next four to five years."
