It is no secret that we are great fans of Two Rivers Rosé and we love the style. Winemaker Dave Clouston is looking for a wine with a refreshing salty, briny character along with red summer fruits, Mediterranean herb flavours. He has succeeded brilliantly, with the wine an epitome of succulent, delicious refreshingness.

The new vintage release of Two Rivers Rosé is one we look forward to every year. Easily New Zealand’s best Rosé, the 2026 is again a roaring success and beautifully summed up by Joelle Thomson who says.. “It represents the forefront of quality in New Zealand rosé today – and superb value for money.”

Winery notes (2026 Vintage)
“Isle of Beauty, ‘Île de Beauté’, is the evocative name given to the French island of Corsica, located in the Mediterranean Sea. This is where winemaker David Clouston learnt his craft and became passionate about pale, dry Rosé.

Pale pink in colour, this Mediterranean style Rosé is savoury with aromas of white rose and freshly-cut watermelon, pink grapefruit, and sea spray. The palate is salivating, with crushed red berries, sherbet, and a lick of Pink Himalayan Salt. This sophisticated Rosé is enticing, has high energy and finishes with a mouth-watering and dry finish.”

97/100 Vino Masters (2026 Vintage)
“This Mediterranean inspired Rosé brings together Pinot Noir, Syrah, Viognier, Vermentino, Grenache and Mourvèdre from across Marlborough. Now that is a mouthful! Pale salmon pink in colour, with lifted aromas of freshly cut watermelon, wild strawberry and white rose, joined by pink grapefruit and delicate botanicals. The palate is vibrant and beautifully fresh, with crushed red berries and juicy watermelon carried by bright acidity and a fine, elegant texture. A lively sherbet note adds energy, while a gentle mineral edge gives the wine extra definition and keeps the fruit lifted and precise. Dry, crisp and wonderfully refreshing, finishing with citrus and red berries in a way that makes you immediately want another sip.”

18.5/20 Joelle Thompson (2026 Vintage)
“Inspired by the dry rosés from Corsica (also known as ‘the Isle of Beauty’), this new release from Marlborough is a clear example of how modern winemaking and attention to detail can capture a European classic style. Two Rivers winemaker David Clouston worked several vintages in Corsica, developing a desire to make a dry rosé in a similar style. This aim is woven through this light bodied new rosé with its modest 12% ABV and light pink colour. It opens with lifted aromas of watermelon and citrus with an energetic palate of summer berries and a bright, mouthwatering finish. Cool fermentation in stainless steel retains the fresh style of young rosés and this one is made to enjoy during the day or late afternoon, preferably in the sun with good company. It represents the forefront of quality in New Zealand rosé today – and superb value for money.”

5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2026 (2026 Vintage)
“Pristine and delicately expressed, the bouquet reveals ripe strawberry, raspberry, crunchy apple, and floral aromas. It’s focused and finely flowing on the palate, with youthful fruit flavours and beautifully pitched acidity, making it mouthwatering and highly appealing. At its best: now to 2030.”

Rated Excellent & 94/100 Cameron Douglas MS, October 2026 (2026 Vintage)
“A delicious wine that begins with an enticing bouquet of fresh red apple skin and rose, there’s a soft scent of baby’s breath then cherry and tropical fruit and a fine lees complexity. Youthful and vibrant with an elegance. A dry wine touches the palate with a contrasting core of ripe red fruit flavours – all reflecting the bouquet along with a plushness and fine lees quality adding depth and complexity. Great acid line and length, so much to like, a wine ready for imbibing from day of purchase through 2029.”

5 Stars & 18.5+/20 (94) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, October 2026 (2026 Vintage)
“Bright, even, pale blush pink with a peach hue. The nose is expressive, with aromas of strawberry, watermelon, peach, and rosewater. Medium-light bodied, aromas of raspberry and watermelon, intermixed with pomegranate and rosewater. The fruit is fresh and expressive yet delicate, with brightness and mouth-watering acidity; silky in texture with a gently creamy mouthfeel, leading to a crisp, elegant finish. Serve as an aperitif or match with duck rillette over the next 3 years. A blend of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Viognier, Vermentino, Grenache and Mourvèdre, fermented in stainless steel to 12% alc, 4 g/l RS. Aged on fine lees for 5 months.”
