Winery notes (2021 Vintage)
"High density, close planted vines on steep hillside slopes. 22-year-old, clone 667, 777, 115 and Abel vines. With minimal intervention winemaking, this Pinot Noir was naturally fermented, and hand plunged in open top fermenters with 20 per cent whole bunches. The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barriques and cuves, and went to bottle unfined and unfiltered with low sulphur. A further 16 months aging occurred in bottle before release.
Aroma — Boysenberry, dark cherry, savoury, earthy. Palate — Plush, chalk, structured, lengthy finish. Organically grown. Unfined, unfiltered. Vegan."
5 Star & 97/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, June 2025 (2021 Vintage)
"Sophisticated and captivating, the bouquet shows dark berry, bouquet garni, cured meat, porcini, and toasted almond characters. The concentrated palate offers plush texture backed by finely infused tannins, finishing seamless and structured. This is sensually satisfying with expansive mouthfeel and a great line and length. At its best: now to 2036."
Rated Outstanding & 95/100 Cameron Douglas MS, The Real Review, June 2025 (2021 Vintage)
"Tasted over 3 days this wine captures the essence of the southern valleys tangled with the purity of fruit and unique winemaking from the team at Two Rivers. Aromas and flavours complexity and freshness, savoury spices and dried herb then a mix of blackberry fruits and plum, barrel spice, boysenberry and clove. After 3 days open this wine is ready – meaning it will rest and develop in your cellar for at least another 5 years (if you can wait that long). Dry, taut and textured with core fruit flavours reflecting the bouquet, layers of structure from tannins to acidity and a synergy from a quiet developing style. Delicious!"
