Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Typical, fresh aromatics of quality Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay are evident on the nose including ripe stone fruit, citrus, and grapefruit. These are complemented on the palate by a creamy richness, hints of roasted nuts and gunflint, and a mouthwatering finish. A delicious Chardonnay of richness and finesse that can enjoyed on its own or partnered with food. Try it with rich seafood dishes or roast chicken."
91/100 Cameron Douglas MS, January 2025 (2023 Vintage)
"A lovely bouquet led by scents of stone fruits and mineral with a river rock and clay quality. Flavours of white peach and red apple, a lick of spice from fruit then s soft wood spice quality adds complexity and style. Nice mouthfeel built on texture then flavour. fine tannins and medium+ acid line. Well made with a light flinty dry finish. Best drinking from 2025 through 2028."
90/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"Charming and elegantly expressed, the bouquet shows white flesh peach, lemon pith, nougat and oatmeal nuances, leading to a gently weighted palate that's supple and finely textured, finishing linear and structured. At its best: now to 2027."
18+/20 (91) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, September 2024 (2023 Vintage)
"Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is fresh, with aromas of citrus, pear and stonefruit, along with cream and almond suggestions. Medium-full bodied, aromas of pear, grapefruit and peach intermixed with a touch of almond paste on a creamy mouthfeel. The fruit is crisp with a sense of purity, and the lightly creamy palate fills out the palate and provides substance. This is an approachable Chardonnay with forward fruit and plushness. Match with fish and chicken over the next 2-4 years. Fermented in a combination of stainless steel tanks and 500-litre French oak puncheons, 12% alc. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Sep 2024"
