Winery notes (2016 Vintage)
"Appealing and expressive on the nose. Dried strawberries and crimson plums, developing some more savoury layers of spices and cedar wood. With long yet velvety tannins, this wine shows both integrity and complexity.
Warm and dry weather conditions, ideal for grape maturation with a temperature range of 20-25 degrees with cooler nights. The dry weather allowed the grapes to ripen evenly reducing our need for extensive vineyard management. All of our grapes are handpicked over a 3 week period. Then the wines had between 14 to 16 days on skins with an average of 5% whole bunch. Most of the wines are fermented with indigenous yeast from the vineyard."

"Complex and new, youthful and varietal with a core of red berry fruits and dried spice, cherry and red apple, some barrel spices and roasted nut qualities. Firm and dry on the palate with a core of fruit and backbone of tannins and acidity. This is a delicious wine with pinosity at heart, a youthful frame and core fruit flavours surrounded by tannins and acidity setting the foundation for further development. Best drinking from 2026 through 2036."

5 Stars Yvonne Lorkin, January 2023 (2015 Vintage)
"Sourced from the now certified organic Wrekin vineyard in Marlborough’s southern valleys, this Gold Medal-winning pinot noir has, despite its seven-year age, an incredibly fresh, youthful structure and buckets of florals, exotic spices and cherry-centric layers on the nose and palate. Vibrant, yet deliciously complex, this wine is really starting to hit its straps where character is concerned. The tannins are soothing and the finish is long and lithe. Maturing nicely."
