Winery notes (2020 Vintage)
"Darkish ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. The nose has a core of ripe, dark-red berry and cherry fruit with some lovely florals. Medium-full bodied, the palate is rich and vibrant with sweet and spicy flavours of dark-red berry fruits that fill the mouth."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, March 2023 (2020 Vintage)
"Immensely complex and refined, the wine shows dark berry, dried herb, smoked meat and earthy mushroom aromas, leading to a silky-smooth palate that's filled with layers of sweet berry and savoury flavours. Splendidly structured by fine mouth-coating tannins, finishing persistent and silky. Certified organic. At its best: now to 2032."
5 Stars & 19.0/20 (95) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, March 2023 (2020 Vintage)
"Moderately dark ruby, lighter on the rim. The nose is lifted and alluring with plum and dark cherry aromas melded with violet, dark herbs and earth. Medium-full bodied, aromas of dark cherry, cherry plum and black raspberry, unfolding violet, thyme, sage, liquorice, nutmeg and cinnamon, and earthy aromas round up a savoury closing. The wine is concentrated with great balance acidity, bringing liveliness; silky, fine-grained tannins adorn the structure and savoury elements. This Pinot Noir is savoury with dark fruit, spice and floral details, fine-grained tannin structure and a long, balanced finish. Match with duck and lamb over the next 8+ years. Handpicked, fermented with indigenous yeast to 13.5% alc, aged in French oak for 12 months. BioGro organic certified."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, September 2024 (2020 Vintage)
"The scents of site and variety are immediate with the bouquet of this wine, aromas of dark red berry fruits, some barrel and fruit spice then a stony clay mineral quality. Dry, youthful and taut as the wine touches the palate, flavours of plums then red berries, some barrel spice and wood smoke layers emerge as the wine opens out in glass. Firm tannins and plenty of acidity for structure and freshness. Well made and youthful still with plenty of integration time ahead. Best drinking from late 2026 through 2033+."
