Tempus Two's Pewter Series tastes as good as it looks. Presented in an eye-catching bottle shape and adorned with an embossed metal label, it is clear that this is no ordinary bottle of wine. More importantly, what's on the inside is as equally as impressive.
Sourced from old, dry-farmed vineyards in the renowned Barossa Valley, this is just a straight up classic take on Shiraz that is not trying to reinvent the wheel but instead delivering everything that makes this region so famous in spades. The reviews below give a great overview of the wine.
Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"Pewter is our regal wine series. Delivering a premium experience that embodies all that Tempus Two has to offer. All the varieties are sourced from single regions in Australia’s premier wine-growing areas and the end result is magnificent, luxurious, artisan wine developed with love and care.
Characterized by the dark berries and reach tobacco notes. Making the nose complex and layered. The palate is defined by smooth layers of rich forest berries and spiced oak. Subtle notes of vanilla and tobacco linger on the end of mouth, altogether creating a smooth and rich wine."
5 Stars & 95/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, August 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"Superbly fruited and seductively appealing, the wine shows dark and purple fruit richness, violet, spicy oak and dark cocoa notes on the nose, followed by an impressively concentrated palate delivering excellent weight and depth. Splendidly framed by velvety texture and chalky tannins, making it both opulent and firmly structured. At its best: 2024 to 2037."
Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, September 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"A striking core of purple and dark ruby with a bright pink rim and moderate colour-staining of the tears. Aromas and flavours of classic Warmer climate Shiraz with dark black currant and ripe boysenberry flesh, stewed plum and dark chocolate. Spices of clove and vanilla with a toasty quality and moments of black pepper. Dry, youthful and textured as the wine touches the palate, flavours of dark berries and plums, cacao and red peppercorn wrapped in ripe tannins and medium+ acid line. A complete wine with immediate drinkability as well as cellaring potential. Best drinking from 2026 through 2036."
