A hint of fruit sweetness complements the defined, mineral acidity."

The lees and spice qualities show on the palate first through a satin touch then flavours of white fleshed fruits and citrus. "Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is full, packed with dusty fragrance of white blossom and spice, underlying stonefruit, pear and quince. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, aromas of nectarine, ripe pear and quince intertwined with white lily, white pepper and cardamom. The fruit is concentrated with depth and generosity, an excellent balance of acidity lingers with spice and a long finish. This amiable Pinot Gris is smooth flowing with lush fruit, floral, spice and poise. Match with chicken terrine and pepperoni over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from Waitaki, Northburn and Bannockburn, handpicked, fermented cool to 13.5% alc, 6.7 g/l RS, aged on full lees for a short period."
