Winery notes (2023 Vintage)
"Te Kairanga John Martin Pinot Noir 2023 is named after the founding father of Martinborough, John Martin and is crafted from the best vineyard parcels from his original landholdings and some of the oldest vines in the region.
A cherry red Pinot Noir bursting with a deep complex nose of brambly red fruits, exotic spices, toasted almonds, charcuterie and forest floor aromas.Fine linear tannins lead to a flowing minerality and an enticing deep fruit finish. This wine is best enjoyed alongside slow cooked game-y dishes, like venison or mushrooms."

Rated Excellent & 93/100 Cameron Douglas MS, March 2023 (2021 Vintage)
"For me this is a classic TK John Martin expression – aromas and flavours of plums and dried strawberries laced with textures of brown soils and toasty barrel and clove oak qualities. Lush, textured and refreshing on the palate with flavours that reflect the bouquet. An abundance of fine tannins and barrel spice qualities, medium+ acid line and textures from tannins, acidity and balance against the core of fruits. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029."
5 Stars & 94/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, September 2020 (2018 Vintage)
"Elegantly composed and expressed, the wine shows spiced cherry, dried herb, clove and toasted nut characters with a hint of dark mushroom complexity. It's gorgeously flowing on the palate, offering silky texture and fine, delicate tannins. Refined and elegant with lovely savoury nuances. At its best: now to 2026."
