Winery notes (2022 Vintage)
"On the nose a complex array of toasted nuts, lees and smokey tones overlay a pure stone fruit white peach with a citrus backbone. Crisp and pure. The vibrant acidity on the palate offers lively structure to the wine’s weight and texture, citrus pith, Stone fruits and spice leave a long delicate finish.
The grapes were 100% hand-picked and gently whole bunch pressed. After settling in tank, the juice was racked and inoculated with yeasts from ‘The Wrekin’ vineyard and then transferred to French barriques- no new oak. In spring, malolactic fermentation occurred naturally. The wine aged for 18 months on lees."

5 Stars & 19+/20 (96) Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, December 2023 (2022 Vintage)
"Bright, even, pale straw yellow with some depth. The nose is elegantly lifted with aromas of roasted almond shavings, delicate spice, grapefruit pith, underlying stonefruit and citrus. Medium-bodied, aromas of peach and nectarine entwined with lemon, pink grapefruit pith and subtle spices. The fruit has concentration and flows harmoniously along an effortlessly creamy line; enlivening acidity carries good energy and length, closing on enticing, delicate layers. The Chardonnay is elegantly expressed with delicate layers and good energy. Match with crayfish and kingfish crudo over the next 6+ years. Handpicked, inoculated with yeast from The Wrekin vineyard, transferred to old French oak barrels, aged for 18 months, and underwent wild MLF. Unfined, unfiltered."
