Serafino (Steve) Maglieri arrived in McLaren Vale in 1968 determined to enter the wine industry. From picking, pruning and cellar hand work to planting his own vineyards and building his first winery, Steve has enjoyed great success. Today the Serafino vineyards have expanded to 300 acres of prime McLaren Vale land and a new state of the art winery, purpose built for small batch production.
Winery notes (2018 Vintage)
"The palate displays distinctive McLaren Vale Shiraz regional characters. The generosity of bright red fruits across the palate including blackberry, blueberry, mint, swiss dark chocolate and violets intertwined with spicy fine grained tannins. This French and American oak integrates harmoniously with the dark berry fruits, providing a full flavoured wine with layers of texture and flavour. A generous Shiraz that we believe over delivers on mouthfeel flavour and length. Enjoy upon release and cellar up to 2036."

Top 10 Must Try Australian Wines, London Wine Competition 2019 (2017 Vintage)
"Serafino Wines black Label Shiraz is a premium wine by the vineyard of McLaren Vale. It flaunts brilliant garnet appearance with purple hue. Its bouquet has distinct mocha and mulberry aromas integrated with vanilla and cedar oak. The palate reflects characters of the McLaren Vale region. It is full of bright red fruits such as blackberry, blueberry, mint, swiss dark chocolate, and violets mixed with spicy fine-grained tannins. The integration of French and American oak with dark berry fruits results in a full-flavoured wine with layers of texture and flavour. This Shiraz is good to enjoy upon opening or can be cellared up to 2036. A cut of steak with smashed duck fat kiphler potatoes and garden salad are the best foods to pair with Black Label Shiraz."
